62 Projects To Make With A Dead Computer – and Other Recycling

Not only do I think this book will be useful for my final project for college this year but I’m sure I will also make a lot of the other projects in it too. Will be ordering a copy soon.

Do others recycle? Do you use recycled gear in your art or craft? Do you buy from op shops? I’m not great at recycling all my household waste but I’m improving. I do work hard to use what I’ve already got or what is around me outside in my art projects though. I also like to mix some new bought fabric or yarn with Mum’s or Grandma’s scraps or things I’ve been given. Because my friends know I re-use they’re always giving me things!!! It’s great!! At the moment I’m using rings from the top of plastic drink bottles in a crochet wall hanging.

    Hi Kylie,
We recycle the pictures on greeting cards in our card-making. ๐Ÿ™‚

We also buy all of our clothing from op-shops, and there are some great ones in Port Pirie, especially Vinnies. ๐Ÿ˜€

    Have a wonderful week,
    Love and blessings, Jillian โ™ฅ

MMmmmm I have favourite op shops too but they're in Murray Bridge where I used to live. I'm still finding out which ones are best around here.

    God bless, Kylie ๐Ÿ™‚

[-: Hi, HSMiC, recognise the avatar :-]

Kylie, used/dodgy/obsolete CD/DVD discs make great wind-chimes (well, wind-clatters), all shiny in the lights โ€™nโ€™ stuff.

Iโ€™ve been reprocessing ex-TAFE ex-highschool PCs for use in a local primary school, & they donโ€™t want less than 2.4GHz or 512MB. 1GHz-2.4GHz plus 256-284MB are now finding duties (with Kosmic Koala Kubuntu installed) as updates for old/dying Internet/office machines.

    Hi Leon
I love recycling old hardware like that!! I'm still in touch with our local recycling group which uses Linux, ItShare SA Inc. I don't do much voluntary work for them any more but I do still refer people to them for pcs.
