Web Wandering

Went on an interesting web wander this morning. I started out at facebook.com looking at my friend Dana’s profile. From there I went to her blog and read part of the novel she’s writing called Closing In On Heaven. This reminded me of a favourite author of mine Paula Vince so I went to her website Apple Leaf Books. From there I found out that Paula has a blog too so I went there and read some great blog posts which encouraged me in my own writing and other creative pursuits! I emailed Dana about Paula’s books and gave her the links to Paula’s website and blog. I hope they encourage Dana too. 🙂

Paula’s Quenarden series is great! I received her first book Quenarden The Prophecies free at a homeschooling seminar. I couldn’t put it down and when I finished it quickly rang her and ordered the next book from her website.

The same thing when I’d finished book two, I got the next one to find out the exciting finish of the series!

    Hi Kylie
I used to read a lot of Fantasy fiction also, before I met Jesus, but not stick to Christian fiction. Is Qenardan a Christian book? I’d rather ask first than get it and find it’s not.
I enjoy wandering about the web too, it’s so accessable to just think of something and look for it or remember a place you’ve been and go back. Life has never been the same since accessing the web 10 years ago! (I’m amazed that it’s been so long).

    Hi Larissa
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. Yes Paula Vince is a Christian writer and her Quendarden series is written from a Christian viewpoint and you can see the allegories she writes into her drama/fantasy story. They remind me of CS Lewis’ The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe. The characters are very strong and certain, you really get to know them in these books.

Yes I’ve also been using the Internet for a long time (about 12 years for me) and it’s certainly had a big impact on my life too as I became a computer teacher.

    Kind regards, Kylie

    Hi there Kylie,
I just found your comment and knew your name was familiar! I thought how great to come across another South Aussie. Most of my blog buddies are from the USA. I read your profile and said, “This lady is definitely a kindred spirit” and then when I saw your post it all came flooding back. Thanks so much for the encouragement on this post! It can be a lonely sort of job and positive feedback warms my heart.
I’ll definitely be back to follow your blog.
My website is in the process of being updated. The new one should be running by mid January.
I’m working on a “Quenarden4” now that I’ve finished my contemporary novels. If you enjoy Janette Oke stories (as I do too)I think you might like my new novel “The Risky Way Home” which is hot off the press. It’s now at Koorong so buying it there may be cheaper than purchasing it through my website with the added cost of postage. However, my website is always available if you need it.:)
    Blessings,
    Paula
PS Hope you enjoy your New Year celebrations.

    Hi Paula
My son gave me a Koorong voucher for Christmas so I will definitely be getting your latest book!!!! I’ll keep sending people to your website too! Is there any chance of you running a Christian Writer’s workshop this year. I was disappointed that there weren’t enough people to run the one last year.

    All the best, Kylie
